Chris Glik

Pianist and composer Chris Glik graduated from the Peabody School of Music in 1967, and continued on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Antioch University. After a period of freelancing in the Baltimore area, Glik relocated to South Carolina, where he performed with such jazz artists as Chris Potter, Dizzy Gillespie, and Nancy Wilson, as well as vocal groups like the Inkspots, the Coasters, and the Okaysions.

In 1991, Glik moved to Los Angeles, where he has worked with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Glenn Miller and the Modernaires Band, Jerry Van Dyke, the Platters, the Mills Brothers, and others. Among recent highlights was Glik's two-piano performance, with Ark Sano, at the 1999 Duke Ellington Tribute concert at the John Anson Ford Theater in Los Angeles, which received critical acclaim from the Los Angeles Times.

Glik's most recent project is "Gypsy Jazz," featuring original compositions in the Brazilian Jazz vein. We are delighted to feature Gypsy Jazz as among the first entries into our Jazz Archives roster.
